Tracy R. Ackerman passed away November 3, 2014.

Tracy was born April 17, 1923, to Tracy L. and Josephine (Corwin) Ackerman and raised by his grandmother, Minnie Ackerman at Boiling Springs Farm, Ticonderoga, New York.

He attended Iowa State University and M.I.T. before enlisting in the 778th Army Division in World War II. He attended French Communication School.

Returned to complete his master's degree at R.I.T. Worked as a chemical engineer at Rochester Products until his retirement.

Survived by his wife of 65 years, Constance (Clarke) Ackerman; daughters, Cynthia Sanderson, Shelley Adams, and Vicki Hervert; grandchildren, Justin Lee (Gerly), Jessica Cobos (Mark), Corey and Keven Adams, and Ian and Laurel Hervert; great-grandson, Griffin Lee.

Tracy was an avid hiker and served often as hike leader and past president of the Green Valley Hiking Club. Many will remember fondly his "happy clippers." Tracy was active in his church, Valley Presbyterian, where for several years he chaired the patio sale. Recently he volunteered at TALGV.

A special thanks to Cynthia and all the wonderful caregivers at the Villa Rosa.

A celebration of life will be held at the end of November.
