Forrest Edward Lunsway, born in Dunkirk, Indiana March 18, 1911, passed on November 6, 2014, at the age of 103. He lived in Hope Kansas until the age of fourteen with his twin sisters that were eight years his senior. Following a brief three-month time in Brownsville, Texas his family made their home in Southern California and settled into Long Beach where Forrest graduated from Poly High School. The family raised chickens in what is now California Heights and Forrest sold the eggs to help get the family through the depression years. He later worked for Cal-Ship in the Long Beach Ship Yards through World War II. Through his professional years, he worked for Macco Construction and others where he became an accomplished welder and versatile tradesman. He is survived by his third wife, Rose Pollard Lunsway whom with he spent his final years and married, as he promised he would, on his one-hundredth birthday where they danced together at the Dana Point Senior Center. Their wedding was recorded by Guinness World Records as that of the oldest combined age of newlyweds in the United States. It made national news on Good Morning America and the late-night talk shows. He is also survived by his three daughters, Linda Lunsway, Kay Fetterolf, and Patty Skidmore, thirteen grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife of twenty-two years, Bobbie Braley, and his second wife of thirty-two years, Kay Rietzke Bates, and his beloved son Forrest "Butch" Lunsway Jr. and daughter Diane Lunsway.
