TREADWELL , Mary M. On July 21, 2012, Mary M. Treadwell died peacefully at her home in Baltimore, MD. Born April 8, 1941, in Lexington, KY to James W. and Ollie Miller (Phillips), she was a resident of Columbus, OH from 1954 until her relocation to Washington, DC in 1967, and then to Baltimore in 2003. She attended Fisk University and Antioch School of Law, and was co-founder of the former Pride, Incorporated, a broad-based workforce development and job training program in Washington, DC. Preceded in death by father James W. Miller, Sr.; brother James W. Miller, Jr.; Ms. Treadwell is survived by her mother Ollie M. Phillips; sister Joan Pullian, and many devoted relatives and friends.
On Friday, July 27, 2012, the wake will be at 11:30 AM and funeral service at 12 noon, at Providence Baptist Church, 1401 Pennsylvania Avenue, Baltimore, MD, 21217. Arrangements have been entrusted to Joseph H. Brown, Jr. Funeral Home, P.A. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that charitable donations be made in Mary's memory to Maryland SPCA, 3300 Falls Road, Baltimore, MD, 21211, www.mdspca.org.
