A bachelor and a gentleman, a man of many athletic abilities (skiing, hiking, biking) and many talents (photography, making others laugh). The only son of Frank F. and May D. Quin, Frank had 2 younger sisters, Eileen A. and Dorothy. He was born and raised in Lynbrook, NY, and was a friend to so many. In his early manhood, Frank lived in Queens where he was a reporter for the NY Daily News. An avid skier and mountain climber, Vermont was his usual winter retreat. Later in life, he decided to shed his 'mountain gear' and decided to become a 'beach bum' (as he called himself). He enjoyed traveling seasonally between Singer Island, Florida and eastern Long Island, NY. The latter was his favorite island, Amagansett and Montauk beaches particularly because of the pristine beauty. It was there that Frank flew his kites, and rode his bike better than any-aged 'kid' (which is how he always referred to himself - a big kid). He died at age 77 from a heart attack in the night. He was well known for his photos and editorial letters in the East Hampton Star, where many readers and townsfolk knew him only as 'the Kiteman'. Frank had been raised as a Catholic, and reaffirmed his faith in Christ's saving grace around 1984. So, we who die believing and trusting in Christ Jesus do also believe, according to the scriptures and Christ's promise, we will certainly see Frank again. Be sure he will have his same, toothy grin. And very likely, he will have more than a few giant kites flying over the Crystal Lake near God's own throne.
