Mrs. Margaret Burtner Forrester, 92, widow of William C. Forrester, died at 10:08 a.m. Wednesday (Feb 24, 1971) in Odd Fellows Wayside Home near Grove City.
Mrs. Forrester, ill since last July, had suffered a fractured hip in a fall last Christmas Eve. She lived at 2409 Palm St., Natrona Heights.
Her husband died Nove 30, 1918, during the Spanish influenza epidemic, the same day their nine-month-old daughter died of the same disease.
Mrs. Forrester was born Nov. 19, 1878, to David Alter and Katherine Beale Burtner in Burtner Road, Harrison Township. She was a granddaughter of George Burtner, one of the early settlers who built the Burtner Stone Hones, an historic landmark in the area. She and her husband were married in Goheenville, Armstrong County, in November of 1896.
Surviving are four daughters: Mrs. Thomas H. (Laura) Moore, Bethayres, Pa.; Mrs. Samuel J. (Blanche) Parkinson, Millerstown; Mrs. Allen R. (Mabel) Nelson, Natrona Heights, and Mrs. Carl M. (Nancy) [Richter], Beverly, N.J.; a son William C. San Mateo, Calif.; 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Friends will be received this evening in Ferver-Krynicki funeral home, Second Avenue and Corbet Street, Tarentum, where the Rev. Thomas J. Petro will conduct service at 11 a.m. Saturday in Mount Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights.
