Max was born in the Town of Morrison, 9th child of August Godfried and Albertine (Schmidt) Schroeder. He was the only child born in the US. His family immigrated to the US in 1891. He married Emma Pauline Giersbach and they lived in the Town of Glenmore.
Children: Florelda, Norman, Merlin, Elverta, Walter, Roland, Orville and Marvin.
Siblings: Bertha, Ida, Amelia, William, August F, Martha, Ernst, Herman.
Burial in Immanuel Ev Lutheran Cemetery.
