Verba Eulas Crisp, daughter of Arley G. and Effie M. Ward Austin, was born near Jerktail in Wright County, MO. She departed this life in Trinity Lutheran Hospital in Independence, MO. On Sep 8, 1936, she was united in marriage to Nolan Dallas Crisp and to this union 3 sons were born. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Nolan on Dec 8, 1984; her stepmother Amy Austin; and a brother Parris Austin. Verba is survived by 3 sons Dr. N. Denney Crisp, Marlin E. Crisp and Kerry L. Crisp; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters Verla Mosley and Gladys Edwards and Margie Davis; 3 brothers Nolan Austin, Virgil Austin and Billy Joe Austin; a sister-in-law Ruby Austin; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. After she and Nolan were married, they made their home on their farm near Manes, where their 3 sons were born. In 1955, the family moved to the Kansas City area where she lived the rest of her life. Besides being a devoted homemaker to her husband and family, she worked for several years as a receptionist at The Doctors Office. She continued to work at Hanna Medical Clinic, even after officially retiring. Verba was saved and baptized at an early age, and in her younger years attended New Home Freewill Baptist Church. For many years, she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Liberty. She was always a hard worker and loved caring for her home and her family, who were very special to her. She enjoyed gardening and growing beautiful flowers in her spare time. Verba was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and mother-in-law and was a kind and caring neighbor and friend. Burial: Coldwater Cemetery.
