James M. Strandlund, 66, of Moline, passed away Thursday, May 21, 2015 at University of Chicago Medical Center, Chicago.

Funeral services will be 10am, Monday, June 1, 2015 at Rafferty Funeral Home, 2111-1st St A, Moline. Visitation will be 1-4pm Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be at National Cemetery, Rock Island with military honors by American Legion Post 246, Moline. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Sacred Heart Church, Moline.

Jimmy was born April 13, 1949 in Moline, the son of Ernest “Jack” and Catherine “Kay” (Fennelly) Strandlund.

Jimmy retired from the Belgrade after 30 years. He co-owned Jacks Tuna Tap, Davenport and later SGT Peppers, Davenport.

Jimmy enjoyed playing and watching basketball and was an avid Harley rider, traveling to all 48 continental states.

Survivors include his siblings, Dr. Ernest “Jack” (Debby) Strandlund, Phoenix, Ariz., Joe (Sherry) Strandlund, Milan, Jerry (Theresa) Strandlund, Sherrard and Jean (Dr. Rob) Ohlsen, Geneseo; nieces and nephews, Jenny, Jason, Ciara and Laurie and several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
