Death of Maggie Barber.
Maggie, the eight-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Barber passed from this life at 1 o'clock Friday afternoon, Sept. 30, at her home in Haynes township. Death resulted from inflammation of the bladder.
Maggie was a lovable child of beautiful disposition, her parents' favorite child and a favorite with her little associates. She attended school until one week before she died. On Saturday, Sept. 24, she was taken ill and for one week was under the doctor's care. Her illness, while it kept her in bed, was not considered dangerous and it was a severe blow to her parents and friends when she died. She was conscious until the last, and died in her mother's arms, talking of her teacher, her playmates and her illness. The funeral was held Tuesday, Oct. 4, from the Haynes Presbyterian church, Rev. C. M. Boyce officiating. Six girls, playmates of the deceased, acted as pall bearers. The burial took place in Mt. Joy cemetery.
