Gerald Homer Willhite (aka Pops), age 82, passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at West Branch Regional Medical Center. He has lived in St. Helen, MI for the past 14 years, formerly of Berkley, MI. Pops was born to Wilbert and Wilma (Stone) Willhite in Detroit, MI on April 16, 1932. He was a member of the VanDyke Baptist Church in VanDyke, MI. Pops loved to spend time in his garage, known as “Pops Garage”. He loved working on cars, dune buggies, and anything that had wheels and a motor. He helped anyone that needed it and never batted an eye doing it. Pops was loved by all who really knew him.

Pops is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Donna “Ma” Willhite of St. Helen, MI; children: Mary Welimoriv of Madison Heights, MI and David (Mareva) Willhite of St. Helen, MI; grandchildren: Chris, Danny, and DeAnna; brother: Tom (Arlene) Willhite of Warren, MI; and daughter in law: Sandy Willhite of Royal Oak, MI. He is preceded in death by his parents and son, Mike.
