Wallace L. "Wally" Swingle, 45, of East Peoria died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2002, at his residence.

Born Aug. 4, 1957, in Pekin to William H. Sr. and Melba J. Covington Swingle, he married Susan K. Casey on Nov. 29, 1997, in Johnston City. She survives.

Also surviving are one stepdaughter, Betsy Travelstead; one stepson, Eric Travelstead; three brothers, William Jr. (and Betty), Steve (and Pat), and Robert (and Mary); and three sisters, Kathy (and Jerry) Struckle, Diana Blanco, and Linda (and Randy) Harsh.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

An Army veteran, he was stationed at Fort Hood as a military policeman.

He was a correctional officer at Pontiac Corrections in Pontiac until he transferred to the Hanna City Work Camp.

Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
