GREENWICH, Sept 18 - Almet Francis Jenks died at the Kent House here today at the age of 71 years. He was taken with a stroke of apoplexy yesterday morning and died this forenoon. He has been spending several weeks in Maine and returned to the Kent House last Monday. Until three years ago, Mr Jenks was presiding justice of the Appellate division of the Supreme court second department of New York, for 19 years.
Mr Jenks was born in Brooklyn. He was a graduate of Yale and the Columbia Law school and was a noted lawyer. He was formerly corporate counsel for the city of Brooklyn. He was a member of the Society of Colonial Wars, Brooklyn club, Hamilton club and other New York clubs. He is survived by his wife and two children, Almet Francis Jenks Jr and a daughter, Miss Ruth Jenks. The funeral will be held in Trinity church, Brooklyn Saturday afternoon with burial in Greenwood cemetery.
