He saw combat in both Belgium & France. Returned from France, March 18, 1919, aboard the USS Missouri, docking at Hoboken, NJ. He marched in the " Welcome Home Parade " for the 27th Division, up 5th Avenue, in New York City, March25, 1919. Discharged from the service, April 2, 1919, at Camp Upton, NY.
