Mr Kasten was born April 29, 1881 in the Town of Glenmore, son of the late William and Mary Hare Kasten. He Married Emma Edinger at Morrison, June 03, 1890, and the couple farmed in the Towns of Maple Grove and Morrison. After retirement they moved to Reedsville. He was director of the Wayside State Bank, and served as treasurer of the Town of Morrison and and the townships school board.
Survivors are the wife; son Arthur, Greenleaf; daughter, Mrs Frank (Lorraine) Rahn, of Reedsville; nine grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren and 26 nieces and nephews. A son, daughter, two brothers and sister preceded him in death.
Funeral was held at Zion Ev Lutheran Church, Wayside with burial in church cemetery.
