Deloris W. Kohlstedt, 98, died July 11, 2015 in Westmont, Illinois.
The oldest of 12 children, Deloris Emelia Weichelt was born March 11, 1917, to Herman Weichelt and Mary (Korth) Weichelt near Marshfield, Wisconsin. At the age of 18 she moved to the Chicago area, where she lived for the remainder of her life.
She was married to August (Gus) Kohlstedt from November 22, 1939 until his death in 1984. Deloris worked in retail, then at Washington National Insurance company until her retirement. She and Gus enjoyed traveling, and later she traveled extensively with her children and their families. Deloris' greatest joy in life was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whose lives she enriched immensely.
Survivors include her three children: Mary Rohde, widow of Chuck; Joyce Jensen, married to Lou; and James (Jim) Kohlstedt and his wife Pat.
Grandchildren: Charles Rohde (Susan); Jason Rohde (Sarah); Brooke Rohde (Scott Shields); Marlena Jensen; Andrew Jensen; Katie Kohlstedt (Francisco Portillo); Matthew Kohlstedt (Sarah); Lindsey Meyer (Devin); Kevin Kohlstedt.
Great-grandchildren: Ellaby and Denton Rohde; Isabelle, Owen and Gus Rohde; Lily and Murphy Shields; Tristan Jensen; Kai and Teo Portillo; Benjamin and Zoe Kohlstedt.
Surviving siblings: Betty Hutchison; Mabel Boehing (Arnold); Meta Hoffmann; Hilde Revling.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, July 25, at St. John's Lutheran Church (sjlagrange.com/church/), 47th Street and Brainard Avenue, La Grange, Illinois.
