Mrs. Nancy Lee Esham Applegate, age 84, of Vanceburg, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2021, at her residence.
She was born November 7, 1936, in Lewis County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Everett and Lola Rouse Esham.
Nancy was a member of the Vanceburg United Methodist Church. She enjoyed going to church, reading, playing piano, her dogs and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Marvin Esham, Howard Esham, Harold Esham and Jack V. Esham.
Nancy is survived by her husband of 63 years, Douglas Eugene Applegate; three sons, Mike Applegate (Kathy) and Steve Applegate (Deana), all of Vanceburg, Kentucky, and Kendall Applegate of South Shore, Kentucky; one daughter, Holly Ann Erwin (Tracy) of Morehead, Kentucky; 10 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 6, 2021, at Dickerson Funeral Home in Vanceburg, Kentucky, with Brother Bob Sweeney officiating. Burial will follow in the Lewis County Memory Gardens in Lewis County, Kentucky. Friends may visit from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, February 6, 2021, at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street, Vanceburg, Kentucky 41179.
Mike Applegate, Steve Applegate, Kendall Applegate, Mikie Applegate, Marshall Applegate and Scott Lewis will serve as pallbearers.
