Journalist, News Photographer. A Swedish reporter educated in Great Britain, he reported from many places of conflict around the world, including El Salvador, Rwanda, Bosnia, Liberia, Chechnya, Liberia, Afghanistan and Iraq. In the process he earned a reputation as a leading war correspondent. Adler worked for Sweden´s leading tabloid, Aftonbladet, and British Channel 4, among other news outlets. He was one of the few journalists to get an interview with Chechnyan rebel leader Sjamil Basajev. In 2001 he received the Amnesty International Media Prize and the Silver Prize for Investigative Journalism at the New York TV Festival; in 2004 he was honored with the Rory Peck Award for Hard News. Adler was killed during a demonstration in Mogadishu, Somalia.
