James L. Riley of Bremerton passed away Mar 26, 2010. He was born Jun 7, 1930 in Chicago, IL to Emil Adam and Magdalene Mary Ena (Redmond) Riley. On Nov 17, 1951, Jim and Dolores Cernan exchanged vows and they enjoyed 58 years together. Jim served in the US Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed playing golf, being an everyday craftsman and loved to travel, including taking his family on cross country adventures. He worked at the Naval Ordnance Station, Forest Park, IL and transferred to NUWC Division Keyport, WA, in 1971. He retired as a Quality Assurance Supervisor in 1986 after 35 years of service. Jim will be remembered for his special smile, his caring heart, his sense of humor and his warm embrace. The memories and love for Jim will never die and will remain in the hearts of all who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife, Dolores; brother, Jerry; 3 children, Sue, Scott and Craig; 7 grandchildren, Bryan, Cristin, Stacy, Kyle, Evan, Allison, and Matt; and 4 great-grandsons. A Celebration of Life will be held at Holy Trinity church on April 6, 2010 at 1:00 pm, with reception following. Memorial gifts can be made to the American Cancer Society.
