SENECA FALLS - Diana M. Becker, 51, of 76 Cayuga Street, passed away on Sunday (June 21, 2015) at Geneva Living Center South in Geneva.

In lieu of calling hours, family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Diana's life on Saturday (June 27) at 2:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Seneca Falls. The Rev. Leah Ntuala, pastor, will officiate assisted by the Rev. Amy E. Loving Austin. A reception at the Gould Hotel, 108 Fall Street, Seneca Falls, will follow the service at 4:00 p.m. Burial will be private in Maple Grove Cemetery in Waterloo.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Seneca Falls First Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 383, Seneca Falls, N.Y. 13148 or to Pathway Home, P.O. Box 516, Seneca Falls, N.Y. 13148.

Diana was born October 16, 1963, in Billinghurst, West Sussex, England, the daughter of William and Mary Shears. She spent her childhood in Wells, England. She graduated from Blue School in Wells and attended Burnell University in London, before moving to the United States and attending SUNY Brockport. She proudly became a U.S. citizen and spent her time positively influencing her community. Diana was employed with Lifetime Care as a hospice coordinator for over a decade. She recruited, trained, and placed volunteers in Seneca and Wayne Counties. Diana served as the first president of the board of directors of Pathway Home of the Finger Lakes. She was president elect of Cayuga Centers in Auburn and was involved with the Seneca County Children's Committee. Diana's volunteer work also included the Red Cross. She sang with the Finger Lakes Chorale as well as with the choir at the Presbyterian Church, where she was a very active member. Diana served the church as an elder, was involved with the Geneva Presbytery, and was instrumental on the pastoral search committee.

She is survived by her husband, John E. "Jeb" Becker II; step-sons, John C. (Kaye) Becker II of Golden, Col., Bennet (Kara) Becker of Bolton, Mass., George D. (Molly) Becker of Towson, Md.; step-daughter, Betsy Becker Feathers of New Lebanon, N.Y.; nine step-grandchildren; her parents, John and Mary Shears of England; brother, John (Stephanie Jones) Shears of England; sisters, Elizabeth (David) Warren and Susan (Michael) Day, both of England; as well as several nieces and nephews and countless dear friends.
