Ocala - Margaret Marie Morningstar passed away August 28, 2015. She was 95. Margaret was born in South Bend, Indiana, moving to Ocala in the 1950s.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George H. Morningstar and sons, George A. Morningstar and Dennis M. Morningstar.
She is survived by her son, Michael (& Sue) Morningstar of Candler, North Carolina; daughter, Myrna (& Jim) Triplett of Ocala, Florida; daughter-In-law, Linda Morningstar of Ocala, Florida. Her grandchildren include: Kirk Morningstar of Hadamar, Germany, Tammy (& Ron) Hess of Candler, North Carolina, Scott (& Sheila) Morningstar of Ocala, Florida, Russell (& Suzanne) Triplett of Ponte Vedra, Florida, and Joseph Triplett of Auburn, Alabama; seven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Margaret was a Christian woman who loved children. The Morningstars were a foster home in Marion County serving more than 50 children. They also served as house parents at Florida United Methodist Children's Home. Upon returning to Ocala, Margaret followed her love of cooking to the Marion County Food Services. She retired as Assistant Manager of Howard Middle School Cafeteria. Margaret was an active member of VFW Post 4209 and Order of Purple Heart for over 25 years. She was a Salvation Army bell ringer till her 90s, enjoying their pie and praise fellowship and summer camp. Margaret enjoyed music, sewing, reading, her coffee and playing cards. She will be missed by family and friends.
A memorial service for Margaret is planned for October 5, 2015, at 10:00 a.m., at Roberts Funeral Homes, Downtown Chapel, 606 SW 2nd Ave, Ocala, FL 34471. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Florida's United Methodist Children's Home, 51 Children's Way, Enterprise, FL 32725.
