Funeral services for Edward J. Doyle, 80, Holton, a retired farmer and insurance and real estate dealer were held Tuesday morning, August 14, at 9 o'clock, at the St. Dominic church at Holton. The rosary was recited at the home Sunday night and was recited again Monday night at 8 o'clock. Burial was in St. Ann's cemetery, Effingham. The Sawin & Dyer funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Doyle suffered a heart attack Friday evening and died Saturday afternoon at his home in Holton. He was born Feb. 28, 1871, at Larkinburg. On Feb. 18, 1914, he married Miss Josephine Hurla of Holton who survives.
Other survivors are three sons, John of Newport News, Va., Joe of Larkinburg, and Jim of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Frank Bucco, Arlington, Va., Mrs. Hugh J. Spann and Mrs. Roderick Spann, both of San Francisco; 10 grandchildren and three nephews.
