She graduated from Pepperell High School* in Lindale, GA class of 1959 then went on to work at Godin's Five & Dime store before serving in the U.S. Navy Women's Reserve (WAVES) in 1961, stationed at Bainbridge, Maryland.

She is survived by a son; three daughters; four grandchildren; two brothers.

She gave birth to a daughter, Cheri, at Fort Devens, Mass., and a son, John, at Fort Benning, GA before settling in Pepperell, MA., where she bore two more daughters, Michelle and Nicole.

In the early 1970s Sheila relocated to Manorville, Long Island, NY, where she worked for 17 years as the town's first female custodian. She received many 'Employee of the Month' awards from the Town of Brookhaven before she retired. She spent her retirement years in the north country with her dogs, Mackie, McGreghor, Angus, and Molly.

She is survived by a son, John; three daughters, Cheri, Michelle, and Nicole; four grandchildren; two brothers, Peter and Phillip Durno of Pepperell, MA she also leaves behind her partner in life, Al Bunnell of Lemington, VT.
