Benson J. "Benny" McPherson, age 64, of Wellston, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, October 4, 2015, while visiting friends in Hillsboro, Ohio. He was born May 14, 1951 in Athens, Ohio to the late Benson McPherson and Era Mae Tittle McPherson. Benny was a 1969 graduate of Federal Hocking High School and he was a retired employee of Ohio University in Athens. Benny enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family and close friends. He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Pamela L. Bentley McPherson; daughters, Katheryn M. McPherson of Columbus, Tansey L. Ackison of Hamden and Donna L. Summerall of New Jersey; son, Derric W. Bentley of Jackson, along with 9 grandchildren, and close friends, Bill and Juanita Trace of Hillsboro. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 2 to 7 P.M. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Thursday at 1 P.M. at the McWilliams Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Hilltop Cemetery in Millfield.
