Elizabeth A. (Bell) Kennedy was born in Nicholas County, KY, September 28, 1828. She departed this life June 30, 1915, aged 86 years, 9 months, and 2 days. She was married to John H. Kennedy in the year 1846. To this union were born eleven children; of whom four are living: Mrs. Rosa Walton of Kansas City, KS; A.B. Kennedy of Wichita, KS.; S.A. Kennedy of Denison, KS and Mrs. Etta Robertson of Arrington with whom she was living at the time of her death. She had been in poor health for a year. She became a member of the Baptist Church about 40 years ago and she has always lived a faithful Christian life, always helping others in affliction and sickness. The family moved from Kentucky to Indiana about 1852. In 1854, they came to Kansas where they have since lived and died. They endured all the privation and hardships of pioneer life and the added trials of the Civil War, during which Brother Kennedy served in the Kansas Militia. Funeral services were conducted at the home of O. H. Tureman of Denison. Burial was in the Township Cemetery at Valley Falls, KS.
