ERNEST L. ARTHURS

Ernest Lee Arthurs, 69, retail grocer, died Saturday at 6:40 p.m. at his home in Highland Bend, Sciotoville, Rt. 4. He had been in ill health the last six months.

Mr. Arthurs lived in this area the last 18 years, coming here from Lewis County. He operated a grocery in Highland Bend many years.

He was born Oct. 19 1884 in Lewis County, a son of Wiley and Rosie May Arthurs. He was married in June 1908 to Wesie Johnson, who survives.

Mrs. Arthurs was a member of Central Christian Church.

Surviving are his wife, two sons, Paul E. of Bellevue, Ky., and Chester A. of Highland Bend, a brother, Harry of Newcastle, Ind. and five grandchildren.

The parents, a son, three brothers and a sister preceded in death.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Highland Bend Nazarene Church with Rev. James Smith officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may view the body at Gill Funeral Home until 1 p.m. Wednesday.
