Miss Barnard, 84, Former Resident, Dies Tuesday

Word has been received here of the death Tuesday night of Miss Elizabeth Barnard, 84, of Freeport, a former Earlville resident.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. in the Earlville United Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Shepherd of the Second Presbyterian Church in Freeport and the Rev. Paul Troy officiating. Burial will be in Precinct Cemetery.
Miss Barnard, born in Earlville, October 12, 1877, was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. L. Barnard. She was educated in the Earlville schools and later received her teaching degree at the University of Wisconsin. She taught in the Ottawa High School approximately 50 years ago and before her retirement was teaching in a high school in Chicago. She resided in Earlville until the early part of 1953 when she moved to Freeport.
One sister, Mrs. John Dupee, of Freeport and several nieces and nephews survive.
Her parents and one sister, Mrs. S. T. Beale and two brothers, Dr. Luther Barnard and Jay U. Barnard preceded her in death.

Rites Held Here for Miss Barnard
Funeral services were held in the Earlville United Presbyterian Church Friday afternoon for Miss Elizabeth Barnard of Freeport.
the Rev. George Shepherd, pastor of the Freeport Presbyterian Church and the Rev. Paul Troy of Earlville officiated. Burial was in Precinct Cemetery, Earlville. Pallbearers were Harlow Miller, Carl Marshall, Wayman Smith, M. M. Kerins, E. R. Trevillion and Mark Carter.
Mr. and Mrs. John Dupee and Sarah and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Dupee of Freeport were among those from out of town attending the services.
