Paul was born in Meyersville, son of the late Frederick H and Louise B (Knickel), lived in Gillette before moving to Millington in 1975.
He was a graduate of Bernards High School Class of 1949.
He began his career as a Special Officer in 1955 for the Passaic Twp Police Dept. in Stirling. There he worked for 30 years attaining the rank of Captain in 1966 and was awarded officer of the year in 1983. He retired in 1985. He was a Charter member of the PBA 139. He later worked as the Safety Manager at AAA in Florham Park for 10 years. He then worked as a Bus Driver for Dealman Enterprises until 2008.
He was a lifelong member, serving many terms as Deacon and Elder at Meyersville Presbyterian Church in Gillette.
He was pre-deceased by his brothers Edward and Carl and he is survived by his wife of 39 years, 6 children and many grandchildren.
