WORCESTER: Dorothy M. (Mahar) Clarke, 85, formerly of Worcester and Auburn, went home to the Lord on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Windham Hospital in Willimantic, CT.

She leaves two daughters, two sons, 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and two nephews. A brother, Robert Mahar, and a sister, Mary E. Mahar, both predeceased her.

She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Percy and Aurora R. (Demers) Mahar and lived here most of her life. She also lived in Auburn before moving to Windham, CT last year.

Dorothy was a telephone operator at Worcester State Hospital where she worked for many years until she retired. After retiring, she worked as a Senior Companion with Elder Services in Worcester. She was a former member of St. Bernard’s Church, now known as Our Lady of Providence Parish. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and showing compassion to those less fortunate. She will be sorely missed and remembered for her beautiful blue eyes, her fashion statements and her warm smile.

CALLING HOURS will be from 9:15 A.M. to 11:15 A.M. on MONDAY, FEB. 8 in KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St., followed by a FUNERAL MASS at 12 NOON in ST. BERNARD’S CHURCH, 228 Lincoln St. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery.
