Entertainer, Vaudeville Star and Recording Artist. He started in vaudeville with Gus Edwards' "School Days" and became a top draw during the height of that medium's popularity. As a recording artist, he had hit songs with "Morning Will Come" (1923), "Barney Google" (1923), "California, Here I Come" (1924) and "Isn't She the Sweetest Thing?" (1925), all for Victor Records. After retiring from show business in the 1930s, he became a wealthy stockbroker, organizing the brokerage firm Price and Davis, which drew many entertainment personalities as clients. He also became interested in actors affairs and served as the president of AGVA (American Guild of Variety Artists) for several terms. He died suddenly of a heart attack at the residence of his former vaudeville co-star Lila (Cuddles) Lee, while with Lee and friends.
