SCOTIA - Funeral services for Bertron R. Harvey, retired Niagara Mohawk Power Corp., gas superintendent for the Schenectady district, will be held tomorrow.
Rev. Daniel Brink, pastor of the Scotia Reformed Church, will officiate and burial will be in the Carr Cemetery, Marcy.
Mr. Harvey died suddenly Sunday at his home, 59 Sacandaga Road, Scotia. He was 55 years old.
Born in Ogdensburg, Mr. Harvey lived in this vicinity for 32 years. He was active in the early development1and production of illuminating gas. He began his career as a cadet engineer in Syracuse and later served as gas uperintendent at Saratoga.
He was in Schenectady from 1930 until his retirement in 1953.
With the industry from its early days, he supervised the installation of natural gas facilities for the eastern division of the corporation. He was a member of the employees 26-year club.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Esther Davies Harvey; three nephews, Bernard and Herbert E. Harvey of Ogdensburg and Stanley B. Harvey of Latham. Schenectady Gazette, Tuesday, June 19, 1956
