She graduated from Leroy High School in 1948 and attended Salt City Business College in Hutchinson. Maxine married Ronald D. Cellers in 1948. They later divorced. She married Verle D. Truitt in 1967. He died in 1998. She then married Roy E. "Leroy" Beach in 2000. He died in 2009.
Maxine worked in the food service industry her entire life, most notably as a dietician at the Venice, Florida, hospital; numerous Taco Grande's in the state of Kansas; and USD 308. She was a member of Berean Baptist Church.
Survivors include: son, David Cellers and wife Rona of Hutchinson; stepsons, David Truitt of Hutchinson, Robert Truitt of Sarasota, Fla., Richard Truitt of Hutchinson, Ronnie Beach of Hutchinson; brother, Donald Fischer of Topeka; numerous grandchildren and nieces.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; daughter, Rhonda J. Dahlin; stepson, Michael Truitt; and stepdaughter, Karen Story.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Don Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and Monday with the family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary.
