Myrt first married Bertha Rebecca Parris of Rutland County, Vermont. They had one son, Russell Parris Smith born 11/23/1912. Bertha died of Tuberculosis in 1917 and Russell lived with her parents, Caleb and Helen Parris in 1920. Russell lived with his step mother in 1930. He later moved to Boston, MA and married in 1942 to Helen Stapleton. He died 3/8/1959 and his burial is unknown at this time.
