He was formerly of Waddington and Harrisburg, PA., now of North Cape May, NJ.

He married Catharine Clarke 7/17/1943 in Philadelphia. He served in the United States Navy during World War II.

He was an entrepreneur who invented gunite technology for the construction of custom in ground swimming pools on the east coast. He and his son owned and operated "Francis Heisse Swimming Pools" for over fifty years. He enjoyed restoring Victorian homes, wood working, ceramics, horses, singing and dancing, and always exhibited a sense of humor. He was known for his stories and ability to make everyone laugh.

He had a lifelong interest in learning and always wanted to know "how things worked." He was a member of St. Margaret Mary Church in Harrisburg, Penn. and St. Mary's Church in Waddington.

He was survived by his children, Cecelia Snyder, Antoinette Heisse, Francis Heisse Jr., and Dr. Rosemarie Heisse; a brother, George Heisse; sisters Theresa Crawford, Anna Covey and Ella Straw; five grandchildren; and two great- grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife; his brothers, Herbert, Samuel, Henry and Albert; and his sisters Jenette and Cass.
