Lana Jo Ashford, age 63, of Owosso, MI died Thursday, August 9, 2012 at University of Michigan Medical Center, Ann Arbor, MI.
Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2012 from 2:00-5:00 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Corunna Chapel, Corunna, MI.
Lana was born in Owosso, Michigan on July 23, 1949, the daughter of James Cleveland and Viola Maxine (Ellsworth) Cooper. She worked as a store associate at Meijer and Big Wheel. Lana enjoyed quilting, sewing and scrap booking. She especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Michael Ashford of Owosso, MI, son Michael and Karen Ashford II of Bancroft, MI, daughter Jill and Eric Smith of Owosso, MI, grandchildren; Julie and Jesse Costello of Holt, MI, Michael Robinson of Owosso, MI, Crystal Robinson of Durand, MI, Joshua & Lynzi Ashford of Bancroft, MI, Naia & Sierra Smith of Owosso, MI, and great grandson Jacob Costello. Lana also has 3 brothers; David and Connie Cooper of Cadillac, MI, Michael Cooper of New Mexico and Patrick and Diane Cooper of Durand, MI, and 3 sisters; Josephine and Johnny Davis of Muir, MI, and Penny Libbey and April Cooper, both of Florida. She is also survived by her in laws; Loretta Spinning, Dorothy and Bill Dunn, Sherman and Sherrie Ashford, David Ashford and Howard Ashford. Lana was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
