Lourdes Abadilla, affectionally known as "Nanay" passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at the age of 94. She was born in Rosario, Cavite, Philippines on February 11, 1922. Her parents Alejandro Reyes and Apoliana Maganiban had eight children: Enciang, LaPaz, Cinto, Nene, Antonio, Lourdes, Amalia and Rosita. Lourdes was the last surviving sibling. She married Edmundo Buhain Abadilla who was the love of her life. They settled in Wilmington, California where they raised their four children and dear nephew David Buhain. Their home at 1535 Baypoint Ave, was a place where relatives, friends and neighbors would gather and always feel welcome. Lourdes worked for the StarKist Tuna Company for many years. After retirement, she moved to Oceanside where she shared a home with daughter Nellie and family. She continued to lead an active life by enjoying daily walks in the neighborhood. Her hobbies included growing beautiful roses and colorful orchids. It brought her great happiness to share her delicious Filipino dishes with everyone. She found great strength in her Catholic faith and hosted many rosaries in her home to honor the Virgin Mary. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and their families and she was proud of each and every one.

The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Stewart and the compassionate staff at the Aviara Healthcare Center, where she received exceptional care in her final years. Everyone knew our "Lulu" and became very fond of her. Our Mom was treated with dignity and kindness which will never be forgotten.

Lourdes is survived by her four children and their spouses, Remy (Cary), Nellie Clark (John), Edward (Ingrid) and Edwin (Vickie), nine grandchildren, Marc Quitoriano (Vicky), Michael Duncan (Rose), Guy Abadilla (Nicole), Gabriel Abadilla, Shawna Robinson McQuain (Rob), Lisa Abadilla, Justin Abadilla, Anna Abadilla Myers (Corey) and Adam Abadilla. She also had four great grandchildren, Emily Quitoriano, Asia Duncan, Shane Simons and Solomon Simons. Mom was very loved by many people and she will be greatly missed. From the bottom of our hearts we thank all of you for loving Mom.  We hope you will take a moment to sign this online memorial page and share a thought or special memory about our Mom. Rest in peace dear Mom.
