August 23, 1930 - August 09, 2007

Ray Adkins, 76 years of Peebles, died Thursday, August 9, 2007 at the Adams County Regional Medical Center.

He was born at Sinking Spring, Ohio on August 23, 2007 the son of Truman and Marjorie Stewart Adkins.

He was a member of the Mt. Calvary Church, Peebles Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite Valley of Cincinnati, West Union Chapter #246 Order Eastern Star, Thompson-Wallingford American Legion Post #594, Peebles VFW, Veterans Service Officer, Peebles Town Council and a veteran of the Korean Conflict.

He was preceded in death by his father Truman Adkins, brother, Jim Adkins and a sister Mary Alice Adkins.

He is survived by his wife Mickey Wallace Adkins of Peebles; mother, Marjorie Adkins of Peebles; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Kim Adkins of Hillsboro; two granddaughters, Amanda Rae and Ashley Ann; four great grandchildren, Dane, Alec, Jagr, and Grabriella; and one brother, Gerry Joe Adkins of Peebles.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 12, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. at the Peebles Church of Christ with Jim Chandler officiating. Burial will follow with Military Graveside Services by the Adams County Honor Guard at the Jacktown Cemetery.

Friends may call on Saturday evening from 4:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home with Scottish Rite Services, Blue Lodge Services and Eastern Star Services at 7:30 P.M.
