Johann Friedrich Heinrich Pflanz was a son of Johann Christian Pflanz. He married Dorothee Wilhelmine Marie Neumann about 1870, and was the father of four children:

+ Wilhelmine Frederika Marie Anna, b. 1871
+ Georg Heinrich, b. 31 January 1873
+ Clara Emma Louise, b. 30 December 1873
+ Max Carl Heinrich, b. 17 February 1877

Wilhelmine and Georg died in 1874, and are buried in Berlin.

Henry immigrated to Kansas City, Kansas in early 1884. He was a carpenter. He borrowed $1,000 at 10% interest for 10 years, bought a building lot and materials, and built a house. His wife Marie then made the trip from Berlin with their two remaining children to join him in October of that year.
