Born Nov. 12, 1924, in Keffers, she was a daughter of the late Aaron J. and Rachel Miller Kimmel. She was the wife of Ira E. "Dutch" Allwein, who passed away in 1969.
Nancy was a graduate of Schuylkill Haven High School and attended Penn State University, Altoona campus.
She retired from the AASD after more than 20 years as a teacher's assistant in special ed.
She was a member of Contact Altoona for more than 30 years, and was a member of the Fort Fetter Bridge Club for more than 50 years.
Nancy was a member of Hollidaysburg First United Methodist Church, where she served on numerous committees; taught Sunday school for more than 30 years; and organized Liturgists.
She enjoyed Bible study, reading, sewing and making dolls.
She was preceded in death by a son, Peter Jay, in 1958; a sister, Bonita Otto; three brothers, Miller, Deo and Sherwood.
She is survived by daughters, Bonnie Reimer and her husband, Rich, Hollidaysburg; a granddaughter, Megan Reimer, Reading.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. today at Hollidaysburg First United Methodist Church, and from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Monday at the church, where a funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with Pastors John Godissart and Grace Marie Ransom officiating.
