Earl Winston "Winky" Burnette,age 65,passed away on Sunday,January 1,2017,after a long illness.Born in Lynchburg, on November 15,1951,he was the son of the late Herbert M. Burnette,Jr. and Viola Ballowe Burnette. He is survived by wife of 32 years, and was a devoted father to his children(4 children)(2 granddaughters).One brother (still living). He was married three times!
He was a retired from the Police Force- after 28 years,he was a Capt.,when he retired. He was a charter member of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #34!
Earl served his community in many other volunteer capacities!
Service was held at Thomas Road Baptist Church-12:30 p.m.,Wednesday,January 4,2017 at the Pate Chapel-Rev. Dave Heerspink officiating. Interment in Lebanon Methodist Church Cemetery. Whitten Timberlake Chapel served the family.
