Betty is the daughter of Benjamin Franklin Edmonds and Ada Christine Wilkens (or Warren) Edmonds of Millheim Pa.

Mom was the youngest of twelve children( two died at infancy). She had five brothers and four sisters.

She lost her father when she was just thirteen years old he was 76 years old.

After her father died she and her mother moved to Detroit because some of her older brothers had moved there to work in the auto industry.

Mom went to Beauty School in Detroit and worked as a beautician.

Her first marriage at age 20 in 1943 was to John D. Smith which produced 2 children. They divorced sometime in the early fifties.
After her divorce she married my father, Francis Eugene Olson and had seven more children.

She was a homemaker who still practiced her hair cutting skills on her children (even if we didn't want it)!

She was grandmother of 18, and a great grandmother.

She had a heart of gold, She was kind and giving and always put others before herself, but as the disciplinarian she was tough, with nine kids she was the mama bear and we were her cubs .
When she was at a loss for punishment she would say " Just wait until your father gets home."
We would all scurry!

It wasn't until I became an adult did I really understand the struggles and sacrifices she made for her family. I love her so much for that and I now understand!

She is truly loved and missed by all.

Mom passed due to complications from Alzheimer's. One of my fondest memories of my mother was being able to care for her as she did for all of us. She was one, we were nine.
It was such a joy to care for her and an honor.

WE MISS YOU AND LOVE YOU MOM!
