Mathilda was born in Jarsnas Jonkoping, Sweden on January 30 1871.
She arrived in Massachusetts in June of 1886.
She met and married Charles T (Carl) Olson in 1890, Charles was 24 and Mathilda was 19. They had four sons an a daughter. 3 sons and a daughter died at a very young age.
Her son Harvey is my grandfather.
Her Cause of death was listed as Cerebral Hemorrhage and Bronchial Pneumonia.
The last 8 years before her death she was admitted to Taunton Mental Asylum
Cannot locate records as to why she was admitted there.
I have heard stories that it was a horrible place and lots of bad things have happened there to the patients which makes me very sad for her.
She was buried at Melrose cemetery in Brocton Mass. Death certificate state date of death as 1947. Cemetery has date of death as 1945. There is no headstone for her or her husband Charles who is also buried in the same cemetery.
