Florence M. Abare 96 died Thursday, Jan. 25, 1990, at the CVPH Center in Plattsburgh. She was born in Willsboro on June 11, 1893, the daughter of Eugene and Carrie (Higby) Phelps. Mrs. Abare was a teacher in Willsboro Central School System for more than 30 years. She was a member of St. Philip's Church in Willsboro and Catholic Daughters of Americas St. Joan of Arc Court 867, Willsboro. Her husband, Elrick Abare died in 1960. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Richard (Evelyn) Foley of Willsboro.
