Born Jan. 12, 1904, in Garrard County, he was a son of the late Lou Long and Ash Goins Sr. He was a farmer.
Survivors include two brothers, Gilbert Goins of Erlanger and Edward Goins of Lancaster; three sisters, Fannie Grimes and Nannie Graham, both of Lancaster, and Pattie Boyd of Danville.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Ramsey Funeral Home in Lancaster by the Rev. Daryl Hodge. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Billy, Junior and Roy Grimes, J.P. Goins and Henderson Goins, Jr., and Chester Graham. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.
