In the memory of our beloved Vikki Marlene Smothers who was born in Phoenix, Arizona on 21st June 1952 and passed away on 6th May 2015, 62 years of age. She went peacefully, as she always hoped she would.

Vikki, often known as the stubborn one in the family, always held her ground. This characteristic, a blessing in disguise, gave her the strength to overcome many hardships she faced in life. She was well known for her many crazy stories and adventures. In her younger days she enjoyed traveling, drinking at bars, riding bikes, visiting friends & family all over the country, driving a semi across America, falling in & out of love and finding amazing joints to eat at. She had a wild streak... & a need for speed.

Under a sometimes rough exterior, you would find a giving & loving heart. She loved helping others in need, & she would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it. She loved the southwest, Native American culture, all animals and Mother Earth's glorious nature. Vikki was dedicated to many causes and used her knowledge of computers and website building to help where she could. She was knowledgeable about Hepatitis C and was one of the first people on the web to start various support groups, bulletin boards, chats, and a successful Hepatitis Central website, which she later sold. Vikki had many loved & lovable pets. She especially loved her dogs, Marley "Mar Mar" and Rosie. She enjoyed taking her dogs to the parks, rivers, ponds & watching her "Rosie Girl" swim and bark at bubbles.

Lonesome Dove was Vikki's favorite movie, and she often would sit down with her grandchildren and family to watch the 7 hour film straight-through. All of them laughing & crying as the story unfolded. Vikki loved blues music & could boogie. She spent free time reading medical journals, mystery novels, biographies & anything to quench her thirst for knowledge.

She stepped in to help raise her grandchildren, Brittany Drach (Smith), Kathleen Moreno & Kristopher Moreno & later became a step-mother to Damian Shaw. Before passing Vikki was a proud great-grandmother to Andrea Watler, & Elayna Effland, Kathleen's two children.

In her final years, Vikki lived in Kansas and California, before moving back to where things all started: Phoenix, Arizona. She was thankful and felt loved by her friends and family who helped and supported her through her illness in the final months, especially Cheryl Wamsley, her loving cousin. Vikki's ashes were spread in Jerome, Arizona by her son and daughter. Her grandaughter Brittany kept some ashes with her family.

"It's been quite a party!"
