Frederick Sellien, a respected citizen of Highlawn, Riverdale, died Thursday morning after a short illness from hemorrhage caused by rupture of a blood vessel. He lifted a tub of water Monday morning and later went to the city with his sister Mrs. Minnie Wagener. When returning on the train, he was seized with a hemorrhage which continued until he died. He was an old employee of the Illinois Central having worked for the company for 18 years—the past 10 years as an engineer.
He leaves besides his bereft wife two children, one daughter, Mrs. Paul Middleborn and a son, Harry Sellien.
The funeral [took] place Sunday April 18 at 1 o'clock from the house and 2 at St. Paul's German Lutheran church.
