Johnnie was a loving soul who had a heart for others. Her life was lived for others, especially her family. Johnnie worked many years at Shaw Industries Plant #2 and Plant #4.
She is survived by her son, Jonathon Cannon; daughters and sons-in-law, Jessica and John Hackney all of Chatsworth, GA, Lorie and James Basler of Clinton, TN; grandchildren, Timothy Basler, Isaac Basler, Trinity Basler, Rebecca Hackney, Catherine Hackney, Bryson Cannon, Mason Cannon, Gaje Franklin and Kamden Neely; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mildred and Bill Bailey of Rocky Face, GA, Mary and Kelly Painter of Chatsworth, GA, Thelma Virginia Dyer of Varnell, GA, Frances and Ronald Ensley of Fort Oglethorpe, GA; brothers and sister-in-law, Earl Shoemaker of Chatsworth, GA, Daniel and Jan Shoemaker of Rancho Cucamonga, CA, and James “Hot Dog” Shoemaker of Dalton, GA; special niece, Kathy Williams of Varnell, GA; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many others who called her “MiMi”.
Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Johnnie E. Cannon will be held Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Steve Spangler, Reverend Curtis Akers and Reverend Larry Morgan officiating. She will be laid to rest at the Elrod (Welcome Hill) Cemetery with Brian Quarles, Mark Quarles, John Shoemaker, Lynn Dyer, Timothy Basler and Isaac Basler serving as pallbearers.
