In 1921, son, Raymond Ten Broeck Hand, was awarded second prize in a competition for a scholarship of fifty dollars at the Woods Hole Marine Laboratory given annually by the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity to that student who has shown the greatest proficiency in Biology.
