Nashville - Orville Almon, Jr., 67, died peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, October 29, 2017.

Born in Cairo, IL on September 5, 1950 to Mavis Furlong Almon and the late Orville Almon, Sr., Orville grew up in Charleston, Missouri. He attended Charleston High School and graduated from the University of Missouri where he earned a B.S. in Business Administration. Orville graduated from the Army ROTC program, serving 4 years in the Army until resigning his commission as a Captain to earn his law degree from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphrey School of Law.

He was a founding member of Zumwalt, Almon, and Hayes from 1983 until he opened his private practice, Almon Law, in 2010. A prominent Nashville attorney for 31 years, Orville practiced in the entertainment and music law industry where he was known for his contract expertise, love of all aspects of the music business, and passionate promotion and support of new and established artists.

Orville was married for 32 years to former spouse, Mickey Clement Almon. Together they have three children, Michael Corey Almon and Steven Todd Almon of Nashville, Tennessee and Lyndsey Michelle Almon of Birmingham, Alabama. He is also survived by his mother, Mavis Almon of Charleston, MO, and sister, Debbie Almon Pollock of Sikeston, MO, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude for the kind words, thoughts, prayers, and offers of support and assistance from the many friends, associates, artists, and clients that knew and loved Orv. They can assure you that he loved you back.

There will be a private family service held in Orville's hometown of Charleston, MO. In Nashville, a celebration of life gathering is being planned. Details to be announced soon.
