Ellen is sadly, yet lovingly remembered by her daughter Ruth MacIntosh and grandchildren, Jack and Laurie; son Ken (Marillyn) Kliewer and grandchildren, Chris, Michael, Shelley, James and Kelly; daughter-in-law Isabel Kliewer and grandchildren, Wayne, Randy, Karen and Kim; and son-in-law Byron Richards and grandchildren, Clay and Deedee (Lea). Ellen is also remembered by seventeen great and great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband John, son Clifford Kliewer, daughter Iris Richards and grandson Michael Richards.
Ellen was born on a farm near Margaret, MB and raised in Niverville where she met and married her husband. Together, they moved from Winnipeg to Calgary in 1948. She was a dedicated wife and mother throughout her life. In addition to this she worked during the war as a nurse's aide.
In her retirement, Ellen strengthened her passion for sports and took great pride in her grandchildren. She was an enthusiastic sports fan, taking part in the sports of curling and lawn bowling. In addition, Ellen was an avid fan of baseball, hockey and football watching every game she could.
Funeral Service held at Foster's Garden Chapel, 3220 - 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen's Park Cemetery) on Wednesday, January 31, 2007 with Interment following at Union Cemetery.
