She was the beloved wife of Charles J. Albrycht, Jr. for 67 years.
Born and raised in Plainville, she resided in Newington since 1955. In her younger years, she worked as a cashier at the Strand Theatre in Plainville. She was a hairdresser for many years at the Hairport, Wethersfield, where she was known as "Melanie".
Mrs. Albrycht was an active member of Grace Episcopal Church, and volunteered as a Sunday school teacher, and was past president of the Mr. and Mrs. Club. As a member of the PTA Bowling League, she held the single game record for several years. She was an avid tag saler and accomplished seamstress. She loved to cook and bake and will always be remembered for her "happy-sad" nut rolls and meatballs.
A loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she is remembered as "Marish" and leaves three children, Chuck Albrycht and his wife Eileen of Old Wethersfield, Robin Hadley and her husband Tom of Youngsville, NC, David Albrycht of South Glastonbury; Marybeth Albrycht of Glastonbury; her grandchildren, Peter Albrycht and wife Debora, Jason Albrycht and wife Rochelle, Laura Hadley, Tom Hadley and wife Sana, James Albrycht and wife Jessica, Ryan Albrycht and wife Jennifer, Christopher Albrycht and wife Caitlin, Jeffrey Albrycht, and Samantha Albrycht; and five great grandchildren, Jacob, Laylah, Quinn, Rowan, and Hailey. She also leaves her "sister" Joan Ford of Harwinton; brother Gus Nevelos and wife Margaret of Plantsville; and was lovingly known as "Auntie Honey" to her many nieces and nephews.
She was pre-deceased by her son Jeffrey L. Albrycht; four brothers, George, Frank "Rookie", Stephen, Joseph Nevelos; and three sisters Betty Longo, Peggy Larsen, and Barbara Cascone. She was always so sweet and will forever be remembered for her kindness and generosity.
Her funeral began on Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017, at the Newington Memorial Funeral Home, Newington, followed by her Funeral Service at Grace Episcopal Church, Newington. She was laid to rest in Center Cemetery, Newington.
